Administrative Document Preparation Checklist
Use this checklist to organize records before administrative document preparation, translation, notary, or client-directed paperwork support. It does not recommend an immigration form, benefit, legal strategy, or evidence theory.
Important boundary: MYITEDU LLC is not a law firm. Jon Toshmatov is not an attorney or
DOJ-accredited representative. MYITEDU does not provide legal advice, eligibility determinations, legal
strategy, representation, or outcome guarantees.
Document Readability
- Make sure every scan or photo is clear, complete, uncropped, and readable.
- Check that seals, stamps, signatures, names, dates, and page numbers are visible.
- Keep front and back copies when the document has information on both sides.
Name, Date, and Address Consistency
- List all spelling variations of names exactly as they appear on documents.
- Organize address history and date ranges chronologically.
- Keep travel dates, entry dates, notice dates, and deadline dates separate.
Official Notices and Records
- Save copies of government notices, appointment letters, court hearing notices, receipts, and decisions.
- Use official agency instructions and forms from government websites when forms are needed.
- Do not rely on old downloaded forms without checking the current official source.
Translation Needs
- Separate documents that are not in English and may need translation.
- Do not edit the original document before translation.
- Tell MYITEDU if names, dates, stamps, or handwriting are hard to read.
File Naming and Organization
- Use simple file names such as LastName_FirstName_BirthCertificate_2026-08-23.pdf.
- Keep related files in folders by person, document type, or official notice date.
- Keep originals safe and upload copies unless MYITEDU specifically requests something else.
Questions That May Require an Attorney
- Which legal option, form, relief, or strategy should I choose?
- Am I eligible for an immigration benefit or defense?
- What should I say in court, to USCIS, or to a government officer?
- What are the legal consequences of my facts, documents, or past immigration history?
